2015-09-16
Weltrend Semiconductor (TAIEX: 2436) today announced the launch of its Boosted NFC eSE solution, an all-in-one solution consists of a boosted active contactless frontend, a secure element, and a built-in antenna with matching components, targeting wearable device payment and security applications.
The Boosted NFC eSE is an new addition to Weltrend’s Boosted NFC Card product line which currently includes also the Boosted NFC microSD Card and Boosted NFC SIM Card solutions, targeting mobile payment and security applications.
The Weltrend Boosted NFC eSE enables ISO 14443 compliant contactless performance on ultra-small devices. Since all of the RF related components are integrated, it is a secure NFC system solution with the smallest PCB footprint. It also provides ISO 7816 interface via which the host processor can communicate with the secure element inside directly.
The Weltrend Boosted NFC eSE is well suited for wearable device payment and security applications as well as other devices with small PCB footprint requirement. It reduces engineering efforts and complexities related to RF for both the design and the production of the device.
Key features of Weltrend’s Boosted NFC eSE include:
● | ISO 14443A 106 Kb/s secure card or tag with active transmission |
● | Automatic antenna tuning and Q factor adjustment |
● | Automatic adjustment of output power |
● | ISO 7816 interface for contact information exchange application |
